Continuing the success of the 1st Regional Policy Convening in February 2025, AI Ready ASEAN is set to host its 2nd Regional Policy Convening of AI Ready ASEAN: “Bridging AI Literacy and AI Safety: Building Responsible AI in ASEAN.” The convening will take place as part of the ASEAN AI Malaysia Summit 2025, supporting Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship and aligning with the ongoing development of the Declaration on the Establishment of the ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Safety Network (AI Safe).
Al Ready ASEAN is a regional initiative by the ASEAN Foundation, supported by Google.org, aimed at building Al literacy across all ten member states. This 2.5-year programme seeks to equip 5.5 million youth, educators, and parents with essential Al skills, preparing them to thrive responsibly and ethically in the digital era. Central to the initiative is a train-the-trainer, through which 2,000 master trainers will be capacitated to deliver structured AI literacy training to over 800,000 end-beneficiaries within their respective communities. The programme aligns with key regional frameworks such as the ASEAN Digital Masterplan 2025, advancing an inclusive, ethical, and sustainable digital economy.
